Pearson Air Museum

We had the opportunity to spend a gray, rainy day playing inside at the Pearson Air Museum. We learned about the history of flight in the Northwest, the local contribution to the World War effort (spruce, mainly) and the all-important difference between monoplanes, bi-planes and tri-planes, as well as some other interesting flying contraptions. There were some very cool airplanes on exhibit as well as some models, hands on activities and, of course, planes and helicopters to play in (Boy, did Amarra love that helicopter!). They learned about streamlining and drag,  the planes horizon, and tried their hand at using the cockpit controls to keep a model plane in motion. Even Dashiell was ready to take flight. (And I must add that there is a way cool gift shop!) We'll have to head back this summer when they have the opportunity for kids to go up in a plane!  Can't wait!
